This Privacy Policy explains how Betvisors, Inc. ("Betvisors," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use www.betvisors.com (the "Website"), app.betvisors.com (the "App"), and our related services (together, the "Service"). It also describes your privacy rights. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers and account data: name, username/handle, email address, password, avatar, and similar registration details.
- Advisor and profile content: Picks, betslip images, analysis, performance statistics, and other content you post.
- Payment information: processed by Stripe. We receive limited transaction and status data (such as whether a payment succeeded) but we do not collect or store your full card or bank account numbers.
- Usage, device, and analytics data: pages and features used, actions taken, IP address, browser and device type, and similar log data, collected through analytics tools and cookies.
- Attribution data: referral and campaign information (for example, UTM parameters and referral links) used to understand how users find us.
- Communications: emails and messages you send us, and your email and notification preferences.
Sensitive information: we do not seek special-category or sensitive personal information. Please do not submit it. Sources of information include you directly, your use of the Service, and our service providers (such as analytics and payment processors).
2. How We Use Information and Legal Bases
We use personal information to: create and operate accounts and profiles; provide the Service and display Picks, leaderboards, and statistics; process Advisor Subscriptions and Tips through Stripe; send service and transactional messages; send marketing emails where permitted; measure and improve the Service through analytics; prevent fraud and protect security; and comply with legal and tax obligations.
For users in the EU/UK, our legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR are: performance of a contract (account, subscriptions, processing Tips); legitimate interests (operating, securing, and improving the Service and limited promotion, balanced against your rights); consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (tax, accounting, and compliance). Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests do not override your rights and freedoms.
Marketing communications: when you create an account, we may send you marketing and promotional emails about Betvisors, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or your account settings. Transactional and service messages are separate and are not promotional. For users in the EU, UK, and Canada, we send marketing emails only with your prior consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We honor opt-out requests and recognized preference signals.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (processors) that help us run the Service, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database/analytics), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (CDN/storage), Brevo (email), and Google Analytics (usage analytics). They may process data only on our instructions.
- Public display: content you post as an Advisor (Picks, handle, avatar, statistics) is shown to other users by design.
- Third-party sportsbooks and integrations (such as Gambly deep links) when you choose to use them, subject to their own policies.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and property.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Some US state laws treat the use of analytics or advertising cookies as "sharing" or "targeted advertising." Where that applies, you can opt out as described in Section 6 and Section 8.
4. International Data Transfers
Betvisors is based in the United States, and your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal information from the EU, UK, or Canada, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or our processors’ certifications under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or on your consent provided at account creation. You may contact us for more information about these safeguards.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here. In general: account and profile data is retained while your account is active and for a limited wind-down period after closure to handle disputes and legal needs; payment and transaction records are retained for approximately seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements; analytics data is retained for up to about 14 months; and marketing-consent records are retained while consent is active plus a reasonable period afterward for compliance. We may retain information longer where required by law.
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions (such as login and security), analytics (such as Google Analytics), and attribution. Essential cookies are always active. For visitors in the EU and UK, we present a consent banner and load non-essential analytics and tracking only after you consent; you can change your choices at any time. We honor recognized opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where required. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Children
The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 21 (United States) or at least 18, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction (outside the United States), to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under these ages, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
8. Your Privacy Rights
European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, and port your personal information; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to withdraw consent at any time; and to not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects (we do not make such decisions). You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, the ICO in the UK, the Garante in Italy, or your national authority in Germany).
California (CCPA / CPRA) and other US states
Depending on your state (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the rights to know and access the personal information we collect, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising and certain profiling, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and you may appeal a decision where state law provides for an appeal. California residents may also request information about disclosures.
Canada (PIPEDA)
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.
How to exercise your rights: contact us at privacy@betvisors.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account by keeping your credentials confidential.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may link to third-party sites and services, including sportsbooks. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. We review this Policy at least every 12 months. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
