How Betvisors Works: Verified Records, and You Pay Only When a Pick Wins

Most platforms that sell picks ask you to pay first and trust the record afterwards. This page explains what makes a record trustworthy, why most are not, and how ours is built.

What makes a record real

Four properties, in order of how much they tell you.

1. It was published before the event. A pick recorded after the game is not a prediction. Every Betvisors pick is posted with a timestamp before the event begins.

2. The price is attached. A record without the odds cannot be evaluated later. A 60% record on heavy favourites can lose money; a 48% record on underdogs can print. We capture the odds at the moment the pick is posted.

3. It cannot be edited. Advisors on Betvisors cannot alter, delete or reset a pick after posting. Not we ask them not to. The capability does not exist.

4. The sample size is visible. This is the one almost everybody omits, and it is the one that decides whether a percentage means anything at all.

Why sample size decides everything

At −110 odds, a bettor breaks even at 52.38%, not 50%. (The full odds arithmetic is here.) That narrow gap is why short records are close to uninformative:

A record showing 55% needs roughly a thousand graded picks before that number can be told apart from luck. Most platforms show you thirty and call it a track record.

That is why we display the number of settled picks next to every record, and why no headline win rate appears until an advisor has at least 10 graded picks. Ten is a floor, not a finish line. It exists to stop a 3-0 start presenting itself as evidence.

The losses stay on the board

The single most reliable honesty signal in this industry is whether you can find a platform's losing records.

Ours are public. Our advisor list includes advisors with sub-50% win rates and negative unit totals, and those records remain visible and unalterable. We did not choose to publish only the good ones, because a leaderboard with no losers on it is a marketing page.

Go and check before you follow anyone. That is what the records are for.

How a pick becomes a bet

Browse the leaderboard, read the record and the sample size, follow an advisor, and tail a pick you like. You place the bet at your own licensed sportsbook. Betvisors never takes a wager or holds funds. If the pick wins, you tip the advisor. If it loses, you pay nothing. See exactly how pricing works.

What we do not claim

We do not claim our advisors beat the market. Sports betting markets are close to efficient and thin edges are hard to prove, which is exactly why we publish the sample sizes and the losing records instead of a marketing number. Read them and decide for yourself.
